Rashmita Kujur, a bright student in class 6 at Bisra Govt. Girls High School in Ratakhandi, Bisra block, faces significant financial challenges at home. Her parents, who work as daily laborers, struggle to provide for their family of seven, making it difficult to prioritize their children’s education. Fortunately, the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s mid-day meal program has become a vital resource for Rashmita and other students in similar situations.

Thanks to the program, Rashmita and her peers can receive a hot, nutritious meal at school every day, which helps support their growth and mental development. Rashmita particularly enjoys the Aloo-matar-paneer curry on the menu, which provides a sense of comfort and joy amidst the daily struggles of her family’s financial situation.

Despite the challenges she faces, Rashmita remains hopeful and determined to achieve her dreams. She aspires to become an engineer, and the nutritious meals provided by the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s program help keep her energized and motivated.

The headmistress of Bisra Govt. Girls High School, Smt. Benediqta Dung, recently visited the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralized kitchen in Sector-7, Rourkela, where she witnessed the entire meal preparation process. Impressed by the foundation’s safe and hygienic practices, she praised the organization for its commitment to supporting the education and well-being of poor and needy students like Rashmita.
